Summer Camp

Summer Camp June 15th - August 28th, 2015.

Nestled away in a small, quaint, community is a gem of a find.  Located in a large community center with baseball fields, outdoor play space, a large gym, and many air-conditioned classrooms, Ardsley Summer Camp has been serving the southeastern Montgomery County area with quality camp experiences for over 30 years.  This family run, licensed camp, offers 10 weeks of summer fun for children aged 5 through 13.  A counselor in training (CIT) program is also offered for those older teens interested in becoming counselors.  There are a variety of programs offered starting from 4 weeks to the entire summer.  Tuition prices cover a full 10 hour day!

Groups (20 campers) are set up by grade/age.  A certified teacher and assistant camp counselor run each group.  Detailed lesson plans are written which provide hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).  These interest areas are presented through a unique design of play in small and in large groups.  Camp counselors receive training in these areas for their specific age groups.

Weekly activities include swimming, hiking, sports, trips, cooking, arts and crafts, computers, Wii U and Play Station.  A “Special Day” is also planned weekly which may include programs presented by the Flyers (Hooked on Hockey), the Spinners (Ultimate Frisbee), the “Mad Science Guys”, local artists, chefs, and D.J.s as well as friendly competitive games which include athletic, social, and academic skills.

Our weekly trips take us to many amusement parks and entertainment venues such as Dorney Park, Camel Beach in the Poconos, and the movies to name a few.   Family members are welcome to come along as chaperones.  Campers not wishing to participate may choose to stay at the camp and do special day activities.

Our campers also learn the meaning of community service as they participate in fundraisers for childhood cancer and ALS.  Each summer we hold a car wash, bake sale, Alex’s Lemonade stand, and an ALS Bat-A-Thon.  Campers, their families, friends and the staff all work together to make these community service projects successful.

Registration for camp starts in January.  Forms can be downloaded from our Summer Camp page of the Website or stopping by at Ardsley Community center, Ardsley Summer Camp Program, 2828 spear Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038 215-572-0862 x201.  Ask for Bob!
