Home Heating Aid Applications

Home heating aid application window opens Nov. 4th

If you are a family of four with annual income up to $35,325, or a single person living on less than $17,235, you are among those who qualify for Pennsylvania’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

You can start applying for a 2013-14 LIHEAP grant on Nov. 4.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance ProgramLIHEAP is a state program that helps low-income families with the cost of home heating. Click HERE to see if you are eligible, based on family size and annual household income.

To see your benefit amount, based on household size and income, county of residence and fuel type, click HERE.

You can get a LIHEAP application online or get free help at my office.

Your completed application should be mailed to your county assistance office, whose address can be found HERE.

LIHEAP provides cash grants, which are sent directly to your utility company, as well as crisis grants to help with household heating bills.

Also, the U.S. Department of Energy has tips to reduce heating bills by making your home more energy-efficient.
