Fall is in the Air!

Happy Fall! The leaves will start to change their colors, the air will soon be crisp and it will soon be time to greet the Trick or Treaters at our doors. Lots of activities are planned for October and November for kids and parents. We start off October with our Parent Night on October 2nd in our cafeteria. We have bake sales and a visit planned from our local fire station plus a trip to Shadybrook Farms as well our Pumpkin Patch. We cap off October with our annual Halloween Party (parents are welcome) and our Halloween Parade, both  are on the 24th. We may lose an hour due to Daylight Savings but we will "spring" into November with our Holmesburg Bakery fundraiser. Plus with the Holiday's approaching, we will have our "Angel" tags available for you to take. We will also be sending out our Holiday Shopping Letter and Envelope for your little ones to do their holiday shopping. The center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (11/22) and Black Friday (11/23) for the holiday. Changes are around the corner

Change. Some dread it; other embrace it. Our kids may be a little reluctant to head back to school after having their summer break. There are losts of resources available online to help you get your kids ready for the transition from summer mode into school mode. A few tips to help get the kids into back to school mode include, getting the kids on a school time sleep schedule two-weeks prior too the start of school; give your kids activities they can do after school to keep them busy; shift their brains from summer mode into scholar mode by visiting some cultural attractions (Philly has a lot of those); reacquaint your kids with the calendar schedule they'll use to manage their activities; consider downloading helpful assignment apps like iHomework or MyHomeWork to help keep your kids organized; etc, etc, etc but most importantly take a BREATH!

Our Preschoolers will transition into their new classrooms on September 4th, the same day Cooper Beech starts. Abington School District will be closed on September 10th and 11th for Rosh Hashanah as well as September 19th for Yom Kippur; DCCI, however, will remain open.
